St. George, Utah Iron Man..

was AMAZING! One of the BEST experiences I have EVER had in my life!

I was a Finish Line Catcher, which meant that we were in charge of catching the athletes and escorting them from the finish line to their friends and families. I think it was the best volunteer position out of all volunteers spots because we got to share their special moment with them. Some of them came in with their arms up yelling, a girl ran through hysterically crying, one man came in waving his sign that read Puerto Rico, another man came in and stopped, pulled out his cigar, and posed for the camera! It was awesome to experience their strength to endure to the end. While walking them to their family (which was a pretty long walk, I felt like a 80 year old woman by the time the night was over) I talked with them, asking how the race was and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM agreed that it was by far the HARDEST marathon they've ever took part in. One man said it was his 24th Iron Man and this St. George one was the hardest by far. That blew me away. I met a few who said that this marathon was their first ever, That blew me away too. But what a gain to my testimony of the amazing things that we can accomplish through confidence and self-endurance. I am an Iron Man (Volunteer, that is:)).

These were our T-shirts

This was the first woman that finshed... I heard that she won $25,000. Way-to-go!

And these where two of the many Iron Men of St. George

All in all it was an unforgettable treat, if Iron Man ever comes to your City, don't miss the oppertunity to experience it as a volunteer
